Doug Andrews, E-RYT 500, is the founder and director of Ananda Scotts Valley. Doug’s classes are popular for the way in which he interweaves the physical practice of Hatha Yoga with the timeless teachings of Raja Yoga. In addition to his classes at Ananda, Doug also teaches at a residential drug and alcohol recovery center in Scotts Valley. His private teaching also includes a weekly class for developmentally disabled young adults and their families and caregivers. In addition to his role as a yoga instructor, Doug is also an Ananda Lightbearer serving at both Ananda Scotts Valley as well as Ananda Palo Alto. In addition he is the science teacher at Ananda’s Living Wisdom School in Palo Alto.
For Alice Leland Yoga is something like a genie in a bottle. Whatever she wishes from her practice, she receives: greater flexibility as a dancer, a peaceful respite from the demands of parenthood when her children were young, and refuge from her responsibilities as a Senior Benefits Analyst at Seagate Technology. Today, the teachings and practices of Yoga are the central focus of Alice’s life. She completed the Ananda Yoga Teacher Training program in 2013 and has been teaching Yoga happily ever after.
Barbara Lyon is an Ananda Hatha Yoga Teacher specializing in chair yoga, in which yoga postures are adopted for use in chairs and amended to serve individuals of all needs.
Ashrai Riggio has loved Hatha yoga for 15 years. Since then she has practiced many forms of Hatha yoga including Iyengar, Anusara, Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Finding Ananda Yoga brought her full circle by focusing on the mind, body and spiritual systems. Reaching her long-time goal of becoming an instructor, Ashrai offers private and group classes in Ananda and Restorative yoga. When she is not teaching or practicing yoga, Ashrai maintains a private practice as a Holistic Health Care Practitioner, offering Massage, Reiki, Coaching and Behavioral Therapy.
Cecy Levy has studied Tai-Chi and Qi-Gong since 1987, when she started to study with Sifu Randy Elia in Emerson New Jersey. After moving to Scotts Valley in 2001, Cecy studied for six years with Sifu Greg Brodsky. In 2008, Cecy travel to San Rafael, Ca. every weekend to study Qi-Gong with Sifu Donal Rubbo. Since 2008 Cecy has studied with Sifu Ted Mancuso of the Martial Arts Academy in Santa Cruz. Cecy is n active member of GYPTA (Guang Ping Yang Tai-Chi Association), and has attended the GYPTA Conference for the last ten years. Since moving to Scotts Valley in 2001, Cecy has been a member of Ananda Yoga attending yoga classes on a regular basis, as well as meditation workshops
Lewis Lee Regen is a Certified Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Yoga Instructor as well as a Licensed Massage Therapist, he is deeply immersed in the world of the Healing Arts.
Passionately studying the Ancient Teachings of Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Yoga as a way of life. He has traveled to Thailand to study with a multitude of highly skilled Energy Masters.
